The event started with the six participants playing a 32-board round robin. The top two programs from the round robin played a 64-board final match. |
Comments: "Table Manager" (by Ian Trackman) was used for the purpose of playing one hand and semi-automating the match. Four playing programs were running on four separate computers connected by a network, and the Table Manager dealt the cards, transmitted and received all communications among the playing programs. The participants had to implement the TCP/IP interface with the Table Manager. Several programs could not attend because the implementation was not easy for them.
