  • April 1, 2006: Southern Sea Coast and Xida Mountain, Dalian
    = Twenty two people got together at Qingniwa Qiao, rode Bus No. 5 to Yinshatan (Silver Coast), walked Dalian's southern sea coast, and climbed Xida Mountain, where the gondola lift to The Forest Zoo is.
  • April 15, 2006: Xijian Mountain (Southern Peaks), Dalian
    = Thirty-five people got together at Heishijiao Bus Station and climbed Jian and Xijian Mountains. Two groups were almost lost at two different places, having given us a lesson that managing more than 20 people is difficult in an outing.
  • May 3, 2006: Gaoli Mountain, Wafangtian, Dalian
    = Thirteen people went in two cars and a motorcycle tried to get the top of Gaoli Mountain (879m, the official name is Huajian Mountain). As the weather worsened, we took a safety option to get back early.
  • May 23, 2006: South Hills of Dahei Mountain, Development Zone, Dalian
    = Eleven people got together at Fast Rail's Development Zone Station, but as rain started to fall, we were dismissed. Then, as the weather improved, we climbed Dahei Mountain as planned, enjoying the fragrance of the wild lilac flowers.
  • June 3, 2006: Xi Mountain, Dalian. 36 people participated.
  • July 1, 2006: Jinlong Temple Forest Park, Dalian. Eighteen people participated.
  • July 15, 2006: Xida Mountain and Pick Up Garbage. Nine people participated.
  • August 5, 2006; Anzi Mountain, Dalian. Seven people participated.
  • September 2, 2006: Gaolichen Mountain, Wafangdian. Ten people participated.
  • September 23, 2006: Walking tour of the Daheishi coast (on the east side of the Thousand-Hand Buddha), Dalian. Ten people participated.
  • October 14, 2006: Daheishan Mountain, Dalian. Seventeen people participated.
  • November 11, 2006: Xiaoheishan Mountain, Dalian. Seven people partcipated.

2005

  • April 16, 2005: Southern Sea Coast and Xida Mountain, Dalian
    = Twenty people got together at Qingniwa Qiao, rode Bus No. 5 to the Haitian Baiyun Hotel, walked Dalian's southern sea coast, and climbed Xida Mountain, where the gondola lift to The Forest Zoo is.
  • May 3, 2005: Baiyun Mountain, Dalian
    = Fifteen people participated in this activity.
  • June 3, 2005: Viewing Locust Flowers around Xishan Dam, Lushun Middle Road, Dalian
    = Twenty-four people got together at Xishan Dam Bus Station, walked to the Xishan Dam area to view the locust flowers, and climbed Xishan.
  • July 2, 2005: Jinlong Temple Forest Park, Lushun North Road, Dalian City
    = Seventeen people participated in this annual event to pick up wild cherries (xiao-ying-tao).
  • July 30, 2005: Dahei Mountain (Northern Peak)
    = Eleven people participated.
  • September 17, 2005: Laomao Mountain (848m above sea level, Pulantian City, Dalian
    = Twelve people participated.
  • October 15, 2005: Xiaomao Mountain (North Entrance), Jinzhou District
    = Eight people participated in this second expedition to Xiaohei Mountain.
  • November 26, 2005: Great Buddha Mountains in Daheishi:
    = Fifteen people went to Daheishi on Lueshun North Rd. to see the Thousand-Hand Buddha, walk along the Bo Sea coast, and walk back on the Great Buddha mountains (150m).
  • December 17, 2005: Longmen Hot Spring and Preliminary Expedition to Huajian Mountain, Wafangdian
    = Eleven people went to Longmen Hot Spring, among whom four ventured to have a prelilinary survey to climb Huajian Mountain (879m, where the Korean Cstle is), in the coldest weather.

2004

  • March 20, 2004: Kickoff Party
    = Twelve people participated in the kickoff party which was held at a member's apartment.
  • April 3, 2004: Dalian's Southern Sea Coast and Xida Mountain
    = Twenty-three people got together at Qingniwa Qiao, rode Bus No. 5, walk Dalian's southern sea coast, and climbed Xida Mountain, where the gondola lift to The Forest Zoo is.
  • April 17, 2004: Dalian's Baiyun Mountain
    = Nine people hiked in Baiyun Mountain (259m), Lianhua Mountain, Yingke Mountain and Wanxia Mountain.
  • May 1, 2004: Dalian's Anzi Mountain
    = Ten people went by a chartered van to Anzi Temple, climbed Anzi Mountain, and went down to Yujia Village to return to Dalian.
  • May 22, 2004: Battery Park and Dongshan Scenic Area, Kaifaqu
    = Nine people took the Dalian Light Railway car to Kaifaqu (Development Zone) to view the locust flowers in full bloom, and took taxis to Dongshan Scenic Area to enjoy hiking in Tongniu Mountain (173m).
  • June 19, 2004: Dahei Mountain, Dalian City
    = Eleven people gathered at Xianglujiao Station of Dalian Light railway and went to Kaifaqu to climb the southern peak of Dahei Mountain.
  • July 3, 2004: Jinlong Temple Forest Park, Dalian City
    = Five people participated in this annual event to pick up wild cherries (xiao-ying-tao).
  • August 7, 2004: Summer Lunch Party
    = Six of us, each bringing his or her favorite disch, joined this party to make plans for the fall outings and to chat.
  • September 25, 2004: Xiaohei Shan (Jinzhou District, Dalian City, 469m)
    = Ten people went to climb this famous mountain in Xiangying Zhen, from the eastern side. The Sanshili Pu apples that we bought on our way home were extremely delicious!
  • November 6, 2004: Dahei Mountain, Dalian City = Nine people participated in this third outing to this mountain this year, walking from Shengshui Temple to the highest peak, down to Chongyang Temple..
  • November 27, 2004: Longmen Hot Spring and Heshangmao Mountain (878m), Wafangdian
    = Ten people went to Dahe Guang (45 yuan per person), Longmen Hot Spring, of whom four climbed Heshangmao Mountain, along the gondola line to the weather station. We want to climb Gaoli Huajian Mountain (741m, where the Korean Castle is) next time.

2003

  • May 2-4, 2003: Buyun Mountain (1131 m) and the Bingyu Gorges, Zhuanhe City, Greater Dalian
    = As Buyun Mountain was prohibited from climbing, we climbed Guanri Pavillion (ca. 700 m above the Yingna River dam) in the Bingyu Gorges
  • May 25, 2003: Battery Park in Development Zone and Golden Pebble Beach, Dalian City
  • May 28,2003: Xijian Mountain, Dalian City
  • June 1, 2003: Battery Mountain, Dalian City
  • June 4, 2003: Dading Mountain, Dalian City
    = Three people spent five hours, clibming from the north on the back side of Liaoning Teachers' University's South Campus, and coming down to the west side, at Anjiawang. An exciting mountaineers' paradise!

  • July 2, 2003: Jinlongsi Forest Park, Dalian City
    = Three participants, after riding a bus on Lueshun North Road for one hour and a half, enjoyed hiking in this park for three hours and a half, finding and eatng wild cherries. Afterwards, went to see the Thousand Hands Buddha of Mercy at Daheishi, the last stop of this bus service.
  • July 12, 2003: Xiuyue Mountain Scenic Area, Dalian City
    = Traversing the Xiuyue Mountain Scenic Area for three to four hours, looking down on Beida Bridge, Binghai Middle Road and the Yellow Sea, from Laohutan to Fujiazhuan.
  • August 2, 2003 (cancelled due to rain): Buyun Mountain (1131 m), Zhuanhe City, Greater Dalian
  • August 9, 2003: Dahei Shan, Dalian City
    = Seven members climbed Dahei Shan, from the middle of the ridge to the Dahei Shan peak (663 above sea level)
  • Sept. 21, 2003 (a third trial): Buyun Mountain (1131 m), Zhuanhe City, Greater Dalian
    = 8 people enjoyed climbing Greater Dalian's highest peak, Buyun Mountain.
  • Oct. 11, 2003: Dahei Shan, Dalian
    = Seven people took a bus to Jinzhou, a taxi and a tiny van, and climbed Dahei Shan's north ridge.
  • Nov. 16, 2003: The Mountaineering Club's Party
    = Thirteen members participated in a party that was hed at one of the members' apartment, each bringing one dish.
  • Nov. 29-30, 2003: Longmen Hot Spring, Wafangdian
    = Nine members went to the Yamato Hotel on a late November weekend, climbed Guanma Shan (height difference about 300 m) on Saturday, and stopped by at Huatong Seashore (Wafangdian City) and Qingchuan Temple (Pulandian City) on Sunday.

2002

  • January 1, 2002: Battery Mountain (Paotai Shan), Dalian City
    = To view the first sunrise of the year at 7:00 am, two persons climbed Battery Mountain
  • January 12, 2002: Xijian Mountain, Dalian City
  • March 1, 2002: Binhai West Road and Xida Mountain, Dalian City
  • November 2, 2002: Traversing the Ridges of Tahei Mountain, Jinzhou District, Dalian City
    = On a sunny day in late fall, five people enjoyed the dangerous, advanced course of traversing the ridges in Dahei Mountain, from Mountain Castle to Shengshui Buddhist Temple
